Business opportunity
According to the BBC, the Honda F1 team is for sale, for a pound. This gives me an idea.
If I buy the team then I get to go to the races. Now a ticket for the British Grand Prix is quite a lot of money. More than a quid anyway. For that you get to sit in a stand and watch the cars go by. While I'm sure that seeing a speck (F1 cars are tiny and you are long way away) going nnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmm a few hundred times is thrilling for at least 10 minutes, I'd much rather wander around the pits. Which as a team owner I would be allowed, nay encouraged, to do.
Best of all I could invite about 30 people dressed in overalls to join me as long as they change the tyres when the car comes in. And top up the petrol.
Now, I reckon that there are loads of F1 fans who would like to have a go at that. And quite a lot of them would pay handsomely for the privilege. Say fifteen hundred quid each as long as they brought their own kit. I'd also find a couple of midgets to fit in the cars and drive them around - no skills required as in a truly British sense of fair play we don't care about winning. Those positions would go on eBay.
Best of all as long as the cars make it, this is transport for less money than a bus ticket.
What can go wrong ?
